The JI Shield System offers excellent energy efficiency and air tightness. It is capable of achieving air permeability levels of just 10 m3/h/m2, which is an exceptional performance. Joris Ide’s investment in BIM objects, CAD details and a new Part L Design Check capability makes it even easier to use JI Shield Systems to meet the requirements of the entire building. In addition, JI Shield Systems can be specified to meet performance criteria required for acoustic systems, which are: sound reduction, sound absorption and sound intensity, and these are verified by extensive testing. In terms of fire resistance, JI Shield Systems for roofs have been given a ‘notional’ designation of AA/Broof(t4) by Appendix A, Table A5 of Approved Document B to the Building Regulation 2010 England and Wales and by Technical Booklet E, Table 5.6 of the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012.
